Aiversity ("we," "us," or "our") operates the aiversity.io platform and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our platform, courses, and services.

By accessing or using Aiversity, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your company or organization name. If you enroll via a team plan, your organization administrator may provide this information on your behalf.

Usage data. We automatically collect information about how you interact with our platform, including:

• Course progress and completion status
• Assessment and quiz results
• Artifact and project submissions
• Time spent on lessons and modules
• Feature usage and navigation patterns
• Device type, browser, operating system, and IP address

Payment information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or banking details. We retain only a transaction identifier, the last four digits of your card, and billing address for record-keeping and support purposes.

Communications. If you contact us via email or through the platform, we retain the content of those communications along with your contact details to respond and improve our services.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Deliver courses, track your learning progress, and issue credentials
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Personalize your learning experience based on your progress and interests
• Send transactional communications (enrollment confirmations, progress updates, credential issuance)
• Send relevant educational communications about new courses, features, and platform updates (you can opt out at any time)
• Improve and develop the platform, curriculum, and learning tools
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent, trade, or otherwise make your personal information available to third parties for their marketing purposes.

We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Stripe processes payments on our behalf. Their use of your data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Email service provider delivers transactional and marketing communications on our behalf. They are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing this service.
• Analytics tools help us understand platform usage and improve the learning experience. Data shared with analytics providers is aggregated and does not include direct personal identifiers where possible.
• Team administrators on enterprise plans can view progress and completion data for members enrolled under their organization.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

4. Cookies and tracking

We use a limited set of cookies and similar technologies:

• Essential cookies are required for the platform to function (authentication, session management, security). These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies help us understand how learners use the platform so we can improve courses and features. You can opt out of analytics cookies through your browser settings.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not participate in ad networks or cross-site behavioral advertising.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data, learning progress, and credential records for as long as your account is active.

If you request account closure, we will delete your personal data within 90 days of the request. Certain information may be retained longer where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention or financial record-keeping).

Credential verification records (confirming that you earned a credential) may be retained indefinitely to support ongoing verification by employers or institutions, unless you request their removal.

6. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction. Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion. Request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to the retention provisions above.
• Export. Request a portable copy of your learning data, including course progress, assessment results, and credential records.
• Opt out. Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.
• Withdraw consent. Where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time.

7. Data security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

Aiversity is not directed at children under the age of 13. Users aged 13–15 may use the platform with parental or guardian consent. Users in grades 5–12 access Aiversity through participating schools, which manage accounts under institutional oversight and applicable student privacy regulations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. 9. International users

Aiversity is operated from the United States. If you access the platform from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. By using Aiversity, you consent to the transfer of your data to these jurisdictions, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we process your data on the basis of contractual necessity (to deliver the courses you enrolled in), legitimate interest (to improve our platform), or your consent (for marketing communications).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the platform prior to the changes taking effect.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was most recently revised. Continued use of Aiversity after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
